Laurence, Jesus and the stones

Three blocks move in from Orange Grove

All "rather nice, by Jove!"

Two days of arranging great big stones

With men and hoists and never a moan

Along comes the bishop wearing his dress

A crowd gathers and the stones are blessed

And then on the long awaited day

Laurence Tindall gets under way

Cutting and crashing and chiselling and banging

Sweeping and brushing and carving and clanging

Stopping and chatting to the passers by

Telling them about this amazing guy

Who lived on earth and was without sin

Saved us from death and eternal din.

Laurence chisels on at the block

People from all around they flock

To see the Christ child resurrected

I've wonder if they've really detected

That the story is not just in the stones

Or something dead written in tomes

For Jesus is alive and lives today

It's at your peril you keep him at bay

Invite him in to your heart right now

Worship him and take a bow

Invite him right into your heart

And the living saviour will do his part
