New Project for 2001
St. Philip's CE VC Primary School in Odd Down, Bath is a popular Church School in Bath where the Governors want to define their new building in a Christian context. Their desire is to express this faith in a permanent way that not only says "this is a Christian School", but also to say something about the Christian life.
Shown on the left is a model of the panel for the reception area, depicting the story of the fishes and loaves to follow on from a frieze above the entrance depicting the seven days of Creation.
On the right is a view of the West Doorway where the Creation carving is to be executed. Both panels are to be carved in situ, so that the children can be involved and included in the story. The theme of the interior panel, the feeding of the five thousand is associated with the School through it's Patron Saint, St. Philip. We hope that this work will leave a lasting impression on the children and a lasting statement of our faith in the fabric of the school.
